I am a follower of Christ. First and foremost, my life is about making Christ the center of my life and encouraging others to do the same. I made that decision when I was 17. Since then I have made a lot of mistakes, but I continue in my pursuit to last and live more like Christ.
I am a husband and father. I have been married to Rachelle long enough to have made the biggest part of our life journey together so far. We have two wonderful daughters and amazing sons through their marriages. We love the gift of family.
I am a pastor. I took my first pastorate in 1995 in a small town, Martha, OK. Ultimately, God led us to Colorado where we have been since 2002. I was fortunate to join Creekside Community Church in 2007. We have enjoyed watching the church grow and change. We have had the privilege of constructing two permanent facilities in that time. I also completed my Doctorate of Ministry through New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. We have now moved to East Texas to serve as the Executive Director of Dogwood Trails Baptist Association!
I am a coach. In 2012, I became the cross country coach for Elizabeth High School. I had the privilege of coaching one of my daughters and working with an incredibly talented and gifted group of students over the years. Our best team finish so far was a 4th place team finish in state for our girls. And we have had a second place individual finish with one of our boys, all competing at the 3A level in Colorado.
I am a church consultant. While in seminary, I heard the word church consultant, but had no way of knowing what to do. Fast forward almost 30 years, and the opportunity to become a certified church consultant became available to me. I look forward to helping churches ENDURE. There’s no need to give up, give in, or give out.
